My next project was to do my weekly cooking. James took off to do a boat race and I had hoped that Zoe would come over and hang with me, but she had to go hang out with her boyfriend. Oh well, Alli and I goofed off in the kitchen. I made sausage for spaghetti and then cooked Alli up some scrambled eggs with sausage in them. She loved that. I did exciting things with cabbage too……really it was drizzly and dreary outside and I enjoyed my tinkering in the kitchen.
At noon I put Alli down for her nap and again, I hit the couch. Still nothing good on TV! Alli only slept until 1:30 and that is more like her. She awoke in a good mood and we got cleaned up and headed out to pick up Malcolm and Zoe. Malcolm needed me to take him shopping and Zoe came along to help with Alli. She had fun pushing Alli all around the store in her stroller while Malcolm and I shopped for football cleats. We had no luck finding the boy size 13 cleats. Now you would think, as big as football linemen are, they would stock these shoes in the big sizes. Guess they were sold out.
Saturday evening, we finally got everyone together and went out to dinner for Malcolm and James’ birthday celebrations. We went to Flatbranch, the local brew house. We had to wait to be seated and by the time the food came, Alli was getting real tired of the whole scene. However, Daddy had French fries and that saved the day. Why is it that ALL kids love French fries?
