Snow Day

Last night mid Missouri received about 10 inches of snow. So rather than dig out, we settled in to enjoy an extra day at home.

First thing this morning, Allia was hot to select a special outfit and spent a long time in her room getting it together. As parents, we really enjoy this quiet time because (and don’t tell her this) she is playing on her own and we can relax for a few peaceful moments.

Today’s selection was the blue ballet leotard with about 5 other skirts pulled on with it AND sparkle shoes. We told her how pretty it was and she was thoroughly thrilled. Then I asked her what would happen if she had to go pee-pee and she didn’t seem to be concerned.

A few hours later, Daddy handed me a wad of wet skirts and I gave him a confused look. He responded “You can forecast the future!” She made it to the bathroom but was unsuccessful at removing her layers in time.

We also made a batch of snow ice cream with sprinkles. She didn’t eat much of it but was sure happy we made it.

The view out front. Road covered in snow.

We had not one, but two neighbors stop by and blade off the driveway which was super nice since Daddy has a bum back.
