Christmas Eve

I went in to work this morning and got a few things nailed down and then picked up Zoe and went to Wal-Mart to get supplies for the next few days. Malcolm wanted Egg Nog so I got him some. We also purchased some pumpkin spice milk that turned out to be VERY yummy (better than the nog).

We spent the rest of the day making a batch of chili, watching DVDs, baking cookies, unwrapping gifts, playing and waiting for it to snow.

Displayed on our refrigerator are Alli's art project from school. Yes, this is the extent of our Christmas decorating!

Zoe and Allia playing Dominoes.

Daddy is thinking "oh no....that's not what I wanted."

Cute on Cute.

"I love my new sweat pants."

Alli received two new movies:
Madagascar and Horton Hears a Who

One movie we watched today was Julie and Julia. A very enjoyable movie that depicts events in the life of chef Julia Child in the early years (1950s) in her culinary career, contrasting her life with Julie Powell who aspires to cook all 524 recipes from Child's cookbook during a single year (2002), a challenge she described on her popular Blog that would make her a published author.
Meryl Steep was just amazing as Julia Child!

Another DVD that we watched was Wallace and Gromit, which is now one of my all time favorites. This series of short films was delightful to watch with its very detailed stop motion clay animation. Wallace, an absent-minded inventor from Wigan, Greater Manchester, is a cheese enthusiast (especially for Wensleydale). His companion, Gromit, is an anthropomorphic intelligent dog. Wallace is voiced by veteran actor Peter Sallis; Gromit remains silent, communicating perfectly only through facial expressions and body language. Gromit is sort of the straight man or the brains of the pair and really does an excellent job of relating without uttering a word. Best of all, we all enjoyed watching no matter what our age.
