I started my Valentine’s Day the way I start most Saturday’s, I met Terry at 6 am for a long run. While we were running, Terry gave me the low down on the menu he had planned for his special VD dinner with his wife. It sounded so delicious……crab stuffed ravioli, crème brulee, strawberry margaritas (they're pink)………..too much for my mouth and tummy to handle at such a delicate hour.......AND I had not yet had breakfast. I tried to get invited……..but he said 3 would be a crowd!! When I got home I told James the menu……of course, first thing he said was “can I go to Terry’s for dinner?”

While I was out running, Alli and James did the weekly grocery shopping. When I got home, Daddy surprised me with a pot of pretty red tulips.

For Valentine’s Day, Sissy dressed Alli in her pink shirt and pretty little jumper with hearts and a bow. She then put her hair up in two pink pony tails. Alli looked adorable.

We went to Zoe’s basketball game and Alli spent the first 15 minutes watching the game intently. She was laughing and saying ball and clapping when the crowd did. I couldn’t believe how interested and excited she suddenly was about the basketball game. I took about 100 photos……….cute would be an understatement. When she finally tired of sitting in one place, she climbed all over the bleachers and I hovered near in case she fell. She is usually very careful and today was no exception. She did not fall once.

We spent the balance of the day doing chores and running errands and finally around 4:30 we headed home to start cooking our special Valentines dinner. Alli had dozed off, and just as we were about to sit down to the table, she awoke and was in a foul mood. We tried all our best tricks to make her happy, but she was just in a state. Finally, Daddy gave her a bite of shrimp as I was comforting her in my lap and she seemed to settle down. She loved the shrimp and ended up eating quite a bit. I think she just wanted to feel part of the big sit down dinner. Either that or eating just makes her happy.

After dinner, we drank some Champagne and watched a movie. Alli was still in need of some extra attention so she climbed in daddy’s lap on the couch. After some time, they both dozed off. Daddy woke up when I went to fetch the camera.

All in all it was a great day and a great weekend. The only excitement we had was that I had ordered James some new Keen Newport sandals from Onlineshoes.com and they arrived on Friday. When he tried them on he said they seemed different…..they were not a good pair. Subtle things like the way the tong sat and the toe looked. Finally Zoe noticed the bottoms were very different. They were both a Keen Newport sandal, but evidently from a different production run. I phoned Onlineshoes.com today and they were more than happy to pay the return freight and get a new pair sent right away. I was very pleased with their customer service.
