The long, productive weekend.
Alli and James went to KC for the weekend and left me here to fend for myself. I had some work that needed to be done so I could not go with them or I would have. My assistant, Cherie, had major surgery on Friday and has left me to do both our jobs for the next 4-6 weeks. She had not completed the W2s for 2008 before leaving so it is now my responsibility. I have never created them before and I was very nervous about having enough time to complete all these things and still have Beanie come to work with me and do the weekly payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable and my own job.

The good news is, over the weekend, I completed all the reconciliations and I am ready to print the W2 forms now. It was not as bad as I thought it would be and I think I may actually survive. Payroll went better than expected today as well. I am so relieved.

I accomplished so much over the weekend, you would not believe it! (Amazing what you can do when your toddler is off visiting the Grandparents.) Here is a summary……hung the new curtains up including installing the rod and brackets. Painted the hallway, touched up the paint in the stairwell, shopped for supplies and created a new center piece for the kitchen table. Hung up some photos of Alli and some art work. Made the weekly grocery store run and crock pot stew. Organized the huge storage closet downstairs and finally found the illusive birch basket. I tidied up the electrical cords in the living room and centered the couch on the wall. I emptied the trash cans, watered the plants and vacuumed. I went and purchased some painting supplies and shopped for blinds for the kitchen.

I spent a lot of time with Zoe this weekend which was awesome. We went to Fazzoli’s for lunch (her choice), went shopping together and shared chocolate cheesecake. We also watched two movies. She was great company until her boyfriend got ungrounded and she raced off to meet him at the library. Let’s face it………I am not as much fun as Wade.

Sunday it occurred to me that Saturday my little brother turned 40. I called my mom to give her a hard time about her baby being so ancient. I was surprised when she acted so surprised. Seems she had completely forgotten his birthday. Ha-ha. She felt embarrassed and I thought it was hilarious. I think she rushed to the phone and called Billy to make up.

Another funny story from the weekend…….well funny for me, not Alli or James; Saturday while at Grandma and Grandpa’s, Alli had fun drinking lots of Orange juice from a straw. Then later, she insisted on eating nothing but grapes for dinner. Sunday morning around 5:30 a.m. when she awoke, Daddy went to pluck her from her bed and found she had experienced some yucky diarrhea in the night and had messed up her whole bed, her clothes and everything. So, he had to start the day with a bath and big, nasty cleaning project. Luckily Grandma heard the commotion and got up and helped out. Alli was returned to me Sunday evening sparkling clean and so were all her clothes and blankets. Thanks Grandma!
I sure did miss my baby though. It is the longest we have ever been apart. I was almost in tears Sunday afternoon when James told me they would not be back until bed time. I thought they would return much earlier. I was sure glad to see her when they finally arived home at 9:30. (I may have been watching out the window for them for at least a half hour)

Well, the house is pretty much done now so here are some pictures. We need to do a little more decorating and get some blinds for the kitchen. We also plan on building matching book shelves to put on both sides of the couch. We really need the storage and it will look so nice. I may still paint the bathrooms, but for now they are fine. Another piece of good news, I was able to get a killer refinancing deal and soon will have mortgage rate of 4.5%!

Needs tall book shelves on each side. Old TV will be removed once the big switch to digital happens.

North end of the living room. All done and looking fine.
kitchen needs window treatment.

The wood door was there when I purchased the home 6 years ago. But I never really noticed how pretty it is until we painted a warm color by it.

Dining area....needs blinds.

Still working on how to get rid of the TV wires.
Also need something above the TV, the wall is very tall.

LOve the color of the living room. It does really make the front door really shine. Nice work.
